Senior Counsel
For more than 20 years, Mindy has focused her practice on supporting the real estate rights and interests, as well as the business needs of her clients in a variety of ways. As a commercial transactional attorney, Mindy has served as both in-house counsel and outside counsel to various property owners with unique ownership concerns related to the use and needs of the specific property(ies) and she has analyzed and advised on various risk management assessments.
Her experience includes representing both privately held REITs or publicly traded companies with respect to the leasing, operation, and management of retail shopping centers, as well as the development or redevelopment of property for either commercial and/or residential use. In addition to having considerable experience in retail leasing, Mindy has also worked on general property acquisitions, dispositions, and developments matters. She has significant experience drafting and negotiating leases (retail, recreational, commercial, and office), purchase and sale agreements, assignments, guarantees, easements, REAs, zoning applications, third-party use and operating agreements, condominium declarations, relocation agreements, broker commission agreements, amendments, abatement agreements, estoppel certificates, termination agreements, and other related documents.
Over the course of her career, Mindy developed exposure to both the functionality of state and local government through her time spent serving as Assistant Chief Counsel at the Illinois Department of Transportation and more recently as Assistant General Counsel at Exelon Corporation (EXC Nasdaq) (the largest electric parent company in the United States by revenue and is the largest regulated electric utility in the United States headquartered in Chicago with approximately 10 million customers), and its largest wholly-owned subsidiary Commonwealth Edison Company (Comed) (serving approximately 4MM customers), during a period of unprecedented customer growth and business development. The combination of this experience has been critical in helping Mindy focus on the critical needs of her clients and the development of her support for clients’ property needs.
